APA's parent Hirsh Valuation Group was established in 1980 by founder and president Laurence A. Hirsh. A member of the Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) and the Appraisal Institute (MAI) Mr. Hirsh has distinguished himself and his firm as a leading provider of high quality real estate consulting and appraisal services. He is a graduate of Penn State University and a past president of the Central Pennsylvania chapter of the Appraisal Institute.

Mr. Hirsh has amassed extensive experience in the valuation and analysis of a wide variety of income and special use properties as well as having been active as a principal in the development of office, recreational and retail properties and as a broker on selected occasions. He holds general appraisal certification in 13 states and is a real estate broker in 6 states.

Hirsh has frequently been called on to testify as an expert witness or to serve as a litigation support consultant in matters involving real estate disputes. He has participated in cases ranging from ad-valorem taxation and condemnation to bankruptcy and environmental contamination. Furthermore, Hirsh has qualified as an expert witness in many jurisdictions and is also a certified arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD).
Combining this vast real estate experience with a 30+ year background in aviation creates a unique approach to addressing the real estate issues of general aviation airports. Hirsh is a commercial pilot with multi-engine and instrument ratings and a certified flight instructor (CFI) and has owned three airplanes, currently flying a Beech Baron 58P. He has amassed approximately 2,700 total flight hours and is currently teaching his son to fly who soloed on his 16th birthday.
